A man has appeared in court in Dundee, charged with the murder of a 54-year-old woman described by her grieving family as a 'cherished' mother and a 'true artist'.
Discovery and Family Tribute
Lili Stojanova was found unresponsive at a property on Milnbank Road in Dundee on 6 December 2025. Emergency services had been alerted to a possible disturbance at the address. Despite their efforts, Ms Stojanova was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Following a post-mortem examination, Police Scotland confirmed they were treating the death as murder. In a poignant statement issued through the police, Ms Stojanova's family paid tribute to a beloved relative and a talented individual.
"We are heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Lili, a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter and a woman of remarkable talent," the family said. "A true artist in every sense. She expressed herself through her art which was a reflection of her gentle heart and unique soul."
The statement concluded with a request for privacy, adding: "Losing her is a tragedy, and it is something our family is struggling to comprehend. As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we kindly ask for privacy and space to mourn and remember her in peace."
Court Appearances and Charges
Andrew Bajek, 42, from Dundee, was arrested and charged in connection with the death. He made his first appearance before Dundee Sheriff Court on 8 December.
Bajek returned to the dock on Tuesday 16 December. During this hearing, he made no plea to the single charge of murder. The sheriff remanded him in custody. A date for his next court appearance has not yet been confirmed.

While a suspect has been charged, Police Scotland has emphasised that enquiries into the Dundee murder remain ongoing. Officers are continuing their work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident on Milnbank Road.
