A murder investigation has been launched in Shadwell following a fatal stabbing that left one man dead and another injured, with the perpetrator still at large. Police were called to Watney Street, adjacent to Shadwell station, at 4pm on Tuesday, April 7, responding to reports of an assault.

Officers arrived at the scene alongside ambulance paramedics to discover a man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, in a critical condition. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Detectives are currently working to identify his next of kin and notify his family.
In a related incident, a second man, aged in his 50s, was also stabbed at the location. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
