Arsenal set for windfall as Norton-Cuffy linked with Napoli

Arsenal could be set for a financial boost this summer thanks to a sell-on clause in the contract of former academy product Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who is now linked with a big move from Genoa. The 22-year-old right-back, who joined the Gunners at age 10 and progressed through their youth system, never made a senior appearance for the club but gained experience on loan at Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Millwall.

Norton-Cuffy's Rise in Serie A

In 2024, Norton-Cuffy made a permanent move to Genoa for £1.7 million. Over the past two seasons in Serie A, he has impressed, earning 14 caps for England Under-21s. His performances have attracted interest from bigger Italian clubs, with TuttoMercatoWeb reporting that Napoli and Fiorentina are keen on signing him before next season, with Napoli leading the race.

Sell-On Clause Details

This is not the first time Norton-Cuffy has been linked with a top Italian side; Juventus showed interest in January 2026. According to Tuttosport, Arsenal inserted a 20 percent sell-on clause when he left for Genoa. If a transfer materialises, the Gunners would receive a portion of the fee. The report states Genoa would seek around €20 million (£17.34 million), a substantial profit on the £1.7 million they paid two years ago.

Impact on Arsenal's Transfer Plans

While the windfall would not drastically change Arsenal's summer budget, it would provide a welcome boost as they aim to strengthen the squad. The club is expected to make few but significant signings as they prepare to defend their Premier League title and improve on their Champions League runner-up finish last season, where they lost to PSG on penalties. Potential targets include Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, PSG winger Bradley Barcola, Newcastle's Sandro Tonali, Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi, West Ham's Crysencio Summerville, and Leicester youngster Jeremy Monga.
