EastEnders has confirmed that next week's special episodes will 'change everything', including revealing one of the biggest secrets from the New Year's Day flashforward. Since January 1st, fans have been guessing who the mystery bride is that Max Branning (Jake Wood) will marry in 2027. Potential brides teased included Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). Now it appears the blushing bride is none other than Cindy.
Max's Surprise Proposal
Next week, Max takes surprising action when he sees red over criticism of his relationship with Cindy. During Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Ross Marshall's (Alex Walkinshaw) wedding reception, Max is inspired by the romance and takes to the microphone. He makes a huge declaration, telling everyone how much he loves Cindy before asking her to marry him. Max's proposal stuns everyone, especially Cindy, who is left speechless. Given they have only been seeing each other for a few months, it is a wild development even by Walford standards.
Rocky Road Ahead
If Cindy accepts, a rocky road lies ahead. The New Year's Day flashforward revealed that womaniser Max was cheating on his bride-to-be, waking up with someone in his bed on the morning of the wedding. Not only that, but Max's mystery mistress was also pregnant. Cindy is known for being vengeful—she shot her ex-husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) twice. Could she find out about Max's affair and secretly seek revenge? Perhaps she might even have Max framed and arrested for conspiracy to murder.
