Gabriel Magalhaes could not resist taking a subtle jab at Erling Haaland during Arsenal's Premier League title celebrations. The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for the championship earlier this week after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth, taking the race to the final day.
This allowed Arsenal to enjoy a stress-free afternoon at Selhurst Park on Sunday, resting several players set to start the Champions League final against PSG in Budapest. Gabriel, a key defender, came on at the start of the second half and helped Mikel Arteta's team secure a 2-1 victory.
Gabriel's Celebration and Social Media Post
The Brazil international played a central role in the post-match festivities, leading chants from the away end filled with around 2,000 lucky fans. The celebratory mood continued into the night, and Gabriel was still in high spirits when he posted on TikTok on Monday afternoon.
He shared a picture of himself holding the trophy, but the song choice carried significant meaning. After City's 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Etihad last month, Haaland had taunted by singing 'sometimes I get a good feeling' on camera, suggesting the Gunners would falter again.
However, it was Pep Guardiola's squad that could not maintain their pace. Gabriel reminded Haaland of his premature celebration by posting the chorus to Flo Rida's iconic dance hit, underscoring their growing rivalry.
Haaland's Season and Response
Haaland was an unused substitute as City ended their season with a 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa, closing Guardiola's trophy-laden 10-year tenure. Haaland finished as the Golden Boot winner for the third time, scoring 27 goals, including a late equalizer in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth that ultimately proved meaningless.
After the match, Haaland graciously congratulated Arsenal on their achievement. He wrote on X: 'Not the ending we hoped for, but we'll use this feeling the right way next season. To every City fan who travelled with us this season, thank you. Congrats to Arsenal for the title.'
