Gabriel Jesus Expresses Unwavering Confidence in Arsenal's Premier League Title Pursuit

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has voiced his absolute certainty that the Gunners will secure the Premier League championship this season, while showering high praise on two key teammates. In a recent interview with Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, the Brazilian international revealed his optimistic outlook for Arsenal's campaign.

Title Confidence Amidst Strong League Position

Mikel Arteta's squad currently maintains a commanding nine-point advantage at the Premier League summit as they pursue their first league title since 2004. Despite Manchester City holding a game in hand and potentially gaining psychological momentum from their recent Carabao Cup victory, Jesus remains undeterred in his championship belief.

"Very confident, very confident," Jesus declared when questioned about Arsenal's title prospects. "We are in a good place and we have an amazing squad. Not just the players who play most of the games but the whole squad. I believe 100% that this season we are doing something."

Declan Rice: The Complete Midfield Package

Much of Arsenal's success this season has been attributed to England midfielder Declan Rice, whom Jesus described as "amazing" and capable of "doing everything." Since his £100 million transfer from West Ham in 2023, Rice has established himself among the world's elite midfielders.

"He's the type of player who can do everything," Jesus explained on Ferdinand's YouTube channel. "When he arrived at the club I asked him to do me a favor and that was to shoot every time you get the opportunity. Those moments can decide the game and his shooting quality is amazing."

Jesus elaborated on Rice's versatile skill set: "He can defend, he can create, he can shoot... he's an amazing player. He's different from Rodri because Declan is playing as a No. 8 now. I can compare him a little bit with Fernandinho. Fernandinho defended better than him I think but Declan gets forward, we call him The Horse because when he gets going you can't stop him."

The Brazilian striker also highlighted Rice's leadership qualities: "Look at his character as well, he was born to be a leader. I really appreciate him as a person and as a player."

Bukayo Saka: Underappreciated Excellence

Jesus also reserved significant praise for teammate Bukayo Saka, insisting that many football observers underestimate the young English winger's abilities. Despite Saka experiencing a relatively quiet scoring period with just two goals since early December, Jesus maintains the player possesses exceptional quality.

"He's very good, very good," Jesus said of Saka. "People don't realize how good he is. He's the type of player who needs the ball, you're not going to see him dribbling past five players and then score. He has that quality but that's not his main style. But he can get past you and put the ball in the top corner. He can win you a game or a trophy because he's that good."

When asked to compare Saka with Brazilian stars like Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, Jesus placed them on equal footing: "He's at the same table, the same table. They are all the same. Obviously we're talking about different styles but they all have that quality and can do things in one moment. You still need to win trophies but he's there, he's there."

Upcoming Challenges for Arsenal

Arsenal face a crucial period in their season with multiple competitions demanding attention. The Gunners return to action against Championship side Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals this Saturday, seeking a place in the semi-finals. Following this cup fixture, Arteta's team begins their Champions League quarter-final tie against Sporting before resuming Premier League duties with a home match against Bournemouth.

Jesus's comments come at a pivotal moment for Arsenal as they navigate the final stretch of the season across three major competitions. His confidence in both his teammates and the team's overall prospects reflects the positive atmosphere within the Arsenal camp despite recent setbacks.
