Ethan McLeod was a promising talent who had spent a decade as an academy player at Wolverhampton Wanderers before embarking on his senior career. After leaving Wolves, he gained experience at non-league sides Alvechurch FC, Rushall Olympic, and Stourbridge.

He had only joined Macclesfield Town in July of this year, making his tragic passing all the more poignant for the club and its supporters. The statement concluded with a poignant farewell: 'May you rest in peace Ethan – you will forever be a Silkman.'
