QPR's Daniel Bennie & Charlton's Karoy Anderson Linked with League One Loans
QPR and Charlton stars linked with League One loan moves

The January transfer window is heating up, with two young talents from the Championship reportedly in the sights of League One clubs seeking a mid-season boost.

QPR Winger Daniel Bennie Draws Interest

Queens Park Rangers' 19-year-old winger Daniel Bennie is a target for several League One sides ahead of a potential temporary move. The Australian youth international, who joined QPR from Perth Glory in 2024, has found first-team opportunities limited this season under head coach Julien Stephan.

Bennie's sole senior appearance this campaign came in August, where he scored in a 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle. However, his form for the development squad has been impressive, netting seven goals and providing three assists in just nine appearances.

Transfer specialist Pete O'Rourke reported the interest on social media platform X this week. While the specific clubs were not initially named, Stevenage and Plymouth Argyle have since been touted as potential destinations. Wycombe Wanderers are also believed to be monitoring the versatile midfielder, who can operate out wide, up front, or in a deeper role.

Charlton's Karoy Anderson Eyed by Wycombe

In a more concrete link, Wycombe Wanderers are reportedly showing firm interest in Charlton Athletic's Karoy Anderson. According to journalist Richard Cawley, the League One outfit are considering a move for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Anderson has been excluded from the Addicks' last three matchday squads, having made only nine appearances across all competitions this term. This marks a significant reduction from the 46 games he featured in during the 2024/25 season.

Despite his current lack of minutes, Anderson remains highly rated by Charlton manager Nathan Jones. Speaking after a draw with Portsmouth earlier in the season, Jones praised the player, saying: "I thought Karoy Anderson was outstanding again. The kid, if he trusts what we do and buys into everything, he’s going to have some career. I love working with him every day." It is now a question of whether Charlton will sanction a loan to give the talented youngster regular football.

Window Dynamics for QPR and Charlton

For QPR, the focus after a busy summer may be on outgoings before considering new signings. Any loan departure for a player like Bennie could free up space in the squad for a new acquisition.

At Charlton, the decision on Anderson's future will hinge on whether Nathan Jones believes the player's development is better served with regular League One minutes or by remaining part of his first-team plans in SE7.

As the January window progresses, the futures of these two promising young players will become clearer, with League One providing a potential platform for them to showcase their abilities.
