In Tuesday's episode of Emmerdale, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) was knocked unconscious by Ross Barton (Michael Parr) just as he seemed ready to trade a diamond necklace for his kidnapped son Lewis (Bradley Riches). The blow leaves Lewis trapped with his captor Kylie, who has demanded the diamond's return for his freedom.
Kev Returns with the Diamond, Then Gets Knocked Out
Kev arrived at Dale View after Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) informed him that Lewis had been taken. Kylie had instructed the family that Lewis would be freed once Kev returned a diamond—initially mistaken for a woman named Penny. Kev revealed the diamond was at a pawnbroker's, but Ross ordered him to retrieve it.
Outside, Kev admitted he had the diamond and no intention of returning it. However, he later had a change of heart and returned to Dale View claiming he had retrieved the necklace. Before he could act, Ross struck him with a vase, leaving him unconscious on the sofa.
Lewis's Ordeal Worsens
Lewis remains in a devastating state, trapped in a room at Kylie's house after being thrown into a van by masked men. His anxiety has escalated due to his need for routine and structure. He began stimming—a common regulation technique for neurodivergent individuals—in front of Kylie, who felt sympathy but refused to release him, saying she would do anything except let him go.
Ross told Liam that Kev could be used as insurance for the trade, but the move may prolong Lewis's captivity. The episode leaves viewers questioning what state Lewis will be in when he is eventually freed.
