Holiday airline Jet2 has significantly expanded its presence at London Gatwick, announcing a major new winter schedule featuring 14 fresh routes for late 2026 and early 2027. The move comes just one month after the carrier launched operations from the airport, responding to strong customer demand for its package holidays.
A Winter Programme for Every Traveller
The expansive new schedule is designed to cater to all types of winter getaway. For those seeking warmer climates, the airline will launch flights to Agadir, Madeira, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and La Palma. The first of these, services to the Egyptian resorts of Sharm-El-Sheikh and Hurghada, will commence in February 2026.
For the first time from Gatwick, Jet2 will also operate ski routes to the Alps. Passengers can fly directly to resorts in France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, with destinations including Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, and Turin from December 2026.
Festive Flights to Christmas Market Capitals
A key highlight of the announcement is a dedicated selection of routes to some of Europe's most beloved Christmas markets. Jet2 will offer festive flights and holiday packages to Cologne, Vienna, Gdansk, and Tallinn. These services will operate on multiple days each week between mid-November and late December 2026, providing ample opportunity to soak up the seasonal atmosphere.
In total, the airline has put over 400,000 seats on sale for this winter period. This includes the new routes as well as the continuation of existing popular services to destinations like Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Malta from the Gatwick base.
Confidence in Continued Growth
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, expressed great confidence in the new programme. He stated, “Following our arrival at London Gatwick last month, the response has been truly phenomenal.” He added that with so many holidaymakers wanting to escape during the winter, the company expects the new flights “to sell quickly and be extremely popular.”
