Man in Critical Condition After Wandsworth Bridge Road Collision
A young man is fighting for his life following a serious collision on Wandsworth Bridge Road yesterday evening. The incident occurred near the junction with Pier Terrace at approximately 7:30pm on Monday, February 16.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the crash involved a Jaecoo Pure 5 4X4 vehicle and a 21-year-old male pedestrian. The collision took place south of the River Thames, in close proximity to Wandsworth Bridge. The victim sustained severe, life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported to a hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where he remains in critical condition.
Specialist officers are currently providing support to the young man's next-of-kin during this difficult time.
Arrests and Investigation
Following the incident, authorities arrested the driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old man, and his passenger, a 30-year-old woman. Both individuals were taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Detective Sergeant Davina Nash, leading the inquiry, stated: "This is a serious collision where the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. My thoughts remain with him and his loved ones."

Detective Sergeant Nash has issued a public appeal for information: "I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage that could help our enquiries, to get in touch with us."
