Man hunted after woman sexually harassed and threatened on London train
Police appeal after train sexual harassment in London

Police have launched a public appeal to identify a man following a serious incident of sexual harassment and threats on a London train. A woman was targeted during an evening journey in early December.

Details of the Train Harassment

The incident occurred on a train travelling between London Victoria and Denmark Hill at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 3 December 2025. According to the British Transport Police (BTP), a man approached the female passenger, sat beside her, and subjected her to sexual harassment.

During the confrontation, the individual threatened to punch the woman. When she tried to escape the situation, he deliberately blocked her path, preventing her from leaving.

Intervention and Police Appeal

The distressing ordeal was brought to an end only when another passenger on the service stepped in, forcing the man to stop his behaviour. The BTP has now released a CCTV image of a person they urgently need to speak to in connection with the investigation.

Officers believe the man in the image may hold vital information that could assist their enquiries. He is described as:

  • In his late-20s to 30s.
  • Of slim build with short dark hair and a moustache.
  • He was wearing a black hoodie and appeared to be carrying a yellow JD Sports drawstring bag.

How to Help the Investigation

The BTP is urging anyone who recognises the man to make contact immediately. Information can be provided by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 778 of 3 December.

For those wishing to remain anonymous, reports can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website. All information could prove crucial in progressing the case.
