Barclays has poached a managing director from Citigroup, while Weil, Gotshal & Manges has added a partner to its capital solutions team, according to people familiar with the moves.
Barclays Hires from Citi
The US bank hired David Fawcett as a managing director in its financial institutions group, based in London. Fawcett previously spent over a decade at Citi, most recently as a managing director covering financial sponsors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
At Barclays, Fawcett will focus on client coverage and origination for financial sponsor clients. The move comes as Barclays looks to strengthen its investment banking team in Europe.
Weil Gotshal Expands Capital Solutions
Separately, law firm Weil Gotshal has hired partner Andrew Wilkinson to its capital solutions practice in London. Wilkinson joins from Linklaters, where he was a partner in the banking and finance practice.
He advises on debt capital markets, securitisation and structured finance transactions. His arrival bolsters Weil Gotshal's ability to advise clients on complex capital-raising and risk management strategies.
According to a statement from Weil Gotshal, Wilkinson has extensive experience in cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.
