Casualty confirms devastating death as Kevin dies, not Rory

In the latest episode of Casualty, aired Saturday, June 27, 2026, on BBC One and available on BBC iPlayer, the death of soldier Kevin was confirmed, leaving Rory Dickson and Flynn Byron devastated.

Flynn's investigation into Colonel Bard

Clinical Lead Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) had been determined to expose Colonel Jack Bard (Mark Womack) for abusing and hazing soldiers. Private Rory Dickson (Gwïon Morris Jones) had been questioned by Flynn about an injured soldier's historic injuries, with Bard intervening to stop the investigation.

Rory was later admitted to hospital after a military training exercise gone wrong. Flynn noticed injuries inconsistent with the fall and asked Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) to watch for suspicious signs. Stevie found evidence of unreported historic fractures.

Rory's recovery and Kevin's death

Kevin was seriously injured and kept in hospital while Rory returned to barracks. Rory was re-admitted after an eventful night, and Flynn feared for his mental health. Rory was later involved in an accident, and Flynn saved his life using a bilateral thoracostomy. Rory made a full recovery and was discharged.

Rory visited Kevin and told Flynn he would report Colonel Bard if Kevin wanted. However, in devastating scenes, Kevin died. Rory was heartbroken and hoped for a medical discharge; Flynn agreed to sign the papers. Rory broke down as Flynn hugged him.

Flynn decides to report Bard

Despite Rory's decision not to report Bard, Flynn, after advice from Stevie, decided to report the abuser himself. The question remains: will Colonel Bard pay for his crimes?
