Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body at a West London address near a canal path. Three individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the death.
Welfare Check Leads to Tragic Discovery
The incident unfolded on Tuesday, 16 December, when Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics were called to a concern for welfare report. They attended a property on Horsenden Lane North in the Greenford area of Ealing at approximately 11.15pm.
Upon arrival, they sadly discovered the body of a man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The discovery was made during the welfare check, prompting an immediate criminal investigation.
Three Suspects Arrested at the Scene
Officers swiftly arrested three people at the address. Two men, aged 43 and 36, and a 39-year-old woman were detained on suspicion of murder. All three remain in police custody for questioning as enquiries continue.
The Metropolitan Police have stated that the man's death is currently being treated as 'unexpected'. A formal cause of death has not been established, pending the outcome of a post-mortem examination, which is scheduled to take place in due course.
Ongoing Investigation and Scene Preservation
A police cordon remains in place at the address on Horsenden Lane North as forensic officers conduct their work. The force has confirmed that a crime scene is still active while detectives pursue multiple lines of enquiry.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers, along with the London Ambulance Service, attended and sadly discovered the body of a man. He was pronounced dead. Two men, aged 43 and 36, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. At this stage, the death is being treated as unexpected and enquiries are ongoing."
The London Ambulance Service has also been approached for further comment regarding its response to the initial emergency call.
