GTA 6 Trailer 3 and Pre-Order Hopes May Be Dashed in May
GTA 6 Fans May Be Disappointed by May Hopes

GTA 6 fans are once again getting their hopes up, this time expecting Trailer 3 and pre-orders to arrive in May, but they may be setting themselves up for disappointment. With the game still over six months away from its scheduled November 19, 2026 release, speculation is rife over when the next trailer will drop.

So far, only two trailers have been released for GTA 6. The first debuted in December 2023, while the second arrived on May 6, 2025, shortly after Rockstar delayed the game to 2026. While some believe another trailer could be skipped entirely given the immense anticipation, most assume at least one more will arrive before launch.

The latest excitement stems from Rockstar owner Take-Two Interactive confirming that its fourth quarter earnings call will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026. This date is one week later than usual, which has sparked theories among fans that the delay is tied to a GTA 6 announcement, possibly Trailer 3 or the opening of pre-orders.

However, there is no proven correlation between Take-Two financial reports and GTA 6 announcements. Last year's trailer did arrive in the week preceding the earnings call, but that could be coincidental. Corporate reasons for the delay could be mundane, such as scheduling conflicts or accounting adjustments.

On X, GTA fan account GameRoll wrote: 'I personally believe that it's quite likely Rockstar will drop GTA 6 news sometime during the weeks leading up to this call (which is what happened last year).' Another account, GTA 6 Countdown, speculated that Trailer 3 could drop on any Tuesday before the call: May 5th, 12th, or 19th.

On Reddit, one fan commented: 'Surely they're gonna want to announce pre-order figures at this one. I'm guessing [Trailer 3] + pre-orders going live maybe a week before, sometime between the 12th to 14th.' Another added: 'Never has an earnings call been so anticipated.'

Despite the buzz, Rockstar could make an announcement in the run-up to the earnings call, but as the launch date approaches, the likelihood of a new trailer grows regardless. Take-Two does not need to do anything extra to impress investors at this stage. Recently, an insider predicted the next GTA 6 trailer would not arrive until at least July, aligning with comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick about ramping up marketing in the summer.

Ultimately, fans may be reading too much into a routine scheduling change. While May could bring news, it is far from guaranteed, and those expecting a trailer or pre-orders should temper their expectations.
