The 26-year-old Argentina international has made it clear he wants to leave Atletico this summer, with Barcelona his 'dream' destination.
Alvarez's preference for Barcelona
Alvarez broke his silence this week, stating publicly his desire to leave the Spanish capital. 'I spoke with the people I needed to speak with and the best thing for everyone is a transfer. I want to fulfil my dream,' Alvarez said after Argentina's 2-0 win over Austria. Arsenal and PSG talks
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have both held talks to sign Alvarez, but as it stands, the striker will not consider a move anywhere other than the Camp Nou. United's approach

The former Manchester City star has already reportedly said no to a proposed move to Arsenal. Alvarez's determination to join Barcelona would suggest any approach from United would be an extremely hopeful one. Atletico are reportedly demanding £130m for the striker, who has a contract until 2028.
