A British woman has been arrested in Thailand after allegedly stabbing her husband to death with a 20-inch 'zombie knife' at their luxury holiday home in Pattaya City, Bang Lamung district. Police discovered the huge blade in a sink, wiped clean, and found the 33-year-old businessman dead in the shower with stab wounds on his back.
Discovery and Arrest
Officers were alerted after a friend raised the alarm when they failed to reach the man. Upon arrival, police reported blood stains on furniture and in the bathroom. The wife, who had cuts on her fingers, was questioned and is now being held in custody. According to Police Colonel Nattapon Phongsuksakul, the woman denied murder, but the stab wounds on the victim's back made it 'difficult to accept that claim.' There was also evidence she attempted to clean up the stains before police arrived.
Timeline and Context
An initial examination indicated the man had died at least six hours before officers arrived. The incident is being treated as a murder case. Neighbours reported the couple had moved in two weeks ago and were known cannabis users. Thailand, the first Asian country to decriminalize marijuana, is now considering restricting its use to medical certificate holders.
