Second Teenager Charged in Primrose Hill Stabbing Case

An 18-year-old man has been formally charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a filmmaking student at Primrose Hill in Camden, marking the second individual to face legal proceedings in this tragic case. Khalid Abdulqadir, of Fellows Road in Camden, is accused of grievous bodily harm with intent, violent disorder, and possession of a knife, and is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today, April 14.

Details of the Incident and Investigation

The charges stem from a violent altercation that occurred on April 7, when emergency services responded to reports of a large fight at the Primrose Hill viewpoint at approximately 6:40 PM. According to the Metropolitan Police, a group was allegedly seen knifing a man to the ground during the incident. The victim, 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan, succumbed to his injuries, prompting a murder investigation launched by authorities on the same day.

Victim's Background and Family's Grief

Finbar Sullivan, described by his father Christopher as a "really lovely person," was a filmmaking student with aspirations to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, renowned cameraman Michael Seresin, who worked on major films such as Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Rambo III. Christopher Sullivan shared with The Daily Mail that his son had gone to Primrose Hill to test a new camera gifted for his birthday, a present the family had collectively contributed to. "This is the worst tragedy I could ever imagine," he expressed, adding, "He's my only son... I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced."

Legal Proceedings and Other Defendant

Abdulqadir was arrested on April 12 in connection with the stabbing and now faces multiple charges. Meanwhile, Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, a 27-year-old resident of Enfield, has already appeared in court charged with Finbar Sullivan's murder. During his initial hearing at Stratford Magistrates' Court on April 13, Ogunyankinnu declared, "they've got the wrong person," while flanked by a security officer and wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit. District Judge Ashwinder Gill ruled that the case was too serious for the magistrates' court, ordering it to be sent to the Central Criminal Court, commonly known as the Old Bailey, where Ogunyankinnu is remanded into custody for a hearing tomorrow.
