Emergency services at scene
National Highways confirmed the motorway is blocked in both directions while an air ambulance is working at the scene. Footage from the location shows a tent erected on the side of the road. Traffic is stationary on the UK's busiest motorway, with road surface temperatures likely several degrees higher than the air temperature.
National Highways stated: 'Traffic is being held on the M25 clockwise at J6 Godstone due to a serious collision. Emergency services are on scene. There are delays in excess of 60 minutes and 6 miles of congestion on the approach.' In a separate update, they added that delays exceed 30 minutes in both directions.
